It was back in 1990 when the designer Rodolfo Dordoni presented Foscarini with the proposal for a refined, elegant and creative reinterpretation of the classic beside lamp. From that meeting, Lumiere was born. The first Lumiere went on to inspire the XXL and XXS versions, a reinterpretation of the original project. Today, Lumiere XXL and XXS have been revamped, with modern colours in conjunction with new brushed aluminium or black chrome finishes for the frame The new Lumiere XXL reading lamp is instead an expression of entirely new research in terms of proportions, size and aesthetic language.
